Shaira Diaz moves to tears as she receives first-ever award

Shaira Diaz was visibly emotional as she received her first-ever award at the Anak TV Seal Awards 2024, where she was named “Female Makabata Star” for her contributions to television.

The actress, who began her career in 2012, shared her joy and disbelief in an Instagram post, calling it a “pinch-me moment” as she expressed her excitement about receiving the prestigious recognition.

“A pinch-me moment!!! [holding back tears emoji] My very first award since I started my career in 2012!!! Nakakaiyak…ang saya-saya ng puso ko ngayon,” Shaira wrote, alongside photos of her accepting the trophy.

The actress, who couldn’t hide her emotion, thanked the Anak TV organization for the honor and the jury members for the recognition.

“Maraming, maraming salamat po sa @anaktvinc for this recognition—Female Makabata Star 2024 for Television at the Anak TV Seal Awards!! Salamat din po sa jury!” she added, expressing her gratitude.

Shaira also pledged to continue being an inspiration to the youth and to improve her work for future opportunities.

“This will serve as my inspiration to do better in my work and continue to be a role model for the youth,” she said.

The actress took a moment to thank her family, friends, and supporters, especially her parents and partner, Ea Guzman, for their unwavering support throughout her career.

“Thank you also to my supporters, my friends, and family—especially my mom and dad, and my love, @ea_guzman. Para sa inyo ito! [red heart emoji],” she shared.

“Thank you, Lord Jesus! To God be the glory! [folded hands emoji]”

The Anak TV Seal Awards honor television programs and personalities for their child-friendly and child-sensitive content, recognizing their positive impact on young audiences.

In addition to this recognition, Shaira is set to return to primetime television with the second season of the action-adventure series ‘Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan’, where she will reprise her role as “Elsie,” the childhood friend and fiancée of the titular character, played by Ruru Madrid.
