“This isn’t your moment, Taylor,” Blake Shelton remarks to Taylor Swift when she offers to “assist” with his Toby Keith tribute.
Blake Shelton and Toby Keith shared a close friendship, so it came as no surprise when Shelton announced his upcoming headlining performance at a tribute honoring his recently departed friend. However, when Taylor Swift expressed interest in assisting with the event, Shelton swiftly rebuffed her offer.
While Swift declined to respond directly to our inquiries, she did mention that only Gen Xers refer to her as “Tay Tay,” recalling an incident involving Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on Lip Sync Battle.
“I earned that headlining spot fair and square,” Shelton asserted to ALLOD Entertainment Specialist Tara Newhole. “I had to outmaneuver George Strait, Lee Greenwood in a wrestling match, and even Hank Williams Jr. at a game of nude checkers. I won’t allow Miss Priss to waltz in with her legs up to her neck and ruin my moment.”
Newhole corroborated Swift’s impressive stature, adding, “She’s also quite adept in heels, no small feat when you’re towering over nine feet tall.”
Regardless of height, Swift will play no part in the fictitious tribute to Toby Keith headlined by Blake Shelton, a spectacle eagerly anticipated for booting Garth Brooks from the limelight. God Bless America.
