Bruno Fernandes shows his true colours with classy response to controversial Sir Jim Ratcliffe decision at Man Utd

Bruno Fernandes’ offer was ‘rebuffed’ by Manchester United.

Bruno Fernandes showed his true colours as he delivered a classy offer ahead of Manchester United’s FA Cup final last season.

Man United endured a torrid Premier League campaign last season as they finished in eighth place, recording a measly 60 points.

But the Red Devils somewhat salvaged their 2023/24 term by winning the FA Cup following their triumph over cross-town rivals Manchester City.

Goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo secured a famous win for Man United over Man City.

Ahead of their showdown in London, Sir Jim Ratcliffe made some brutal decisions around staff perks.

In the past, Man United have given tickets to all of their staff members while senior staff and directors were able to take friends and family.

The club would cover travel to and from the stadium, pre-match food, a post-match party and hotel accommodation.

But Ratcliffe sent an email to all staff outlining that they would only receive one ticket for the FA Cup final and will have to pay £20 for coach travel to and from Wembley Stadium on the day of the game.

Needless to say, Man United staff were left stunned by the decision.

Club captain Fernandes caught wind of Ratcliffe’s controversial decision and took matters into his own hands.

According to a post via Kieran Maguire, the Portuguese International went to the club offering to pay everything – and for everyone – out of his own pocket.

Man United, however, ‘rebuffed’ his offer as the club ‘didn’t want him to make them look bad’.

An admirable act from Fernandes, who shows why he wears the captain’s armband.

The 29-year-old has been very reliable for his team since his transfer back in January 2020.

He’s made 223 appearances across all competitions, scoring an impressive 79 goals.
