Chelsea fans have had their say on new manager Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea fans have already made up their minds about manager Enzo Maresca after footage of his first training session emerged online.

Chelsea thought they were on their way back to the top of English football when they hired Mauricio Pochettino as head coach last summer, but things didn’t turn out that way.

The Argentine coach guided the club to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League, although his side spent much of the campaign in mid-table.

Pochettino left the club after just one season following talks with club officials, and was replaced by Leicester City head coach Enzo Maresca.

The Italian impressed during his one season in charge of Leicester, guiding them to the Championship title and an instant return to the top flight.

Maresca previously worked with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, first as the club’s U21s coach and then as the Catalan’s assistant.

Chelsea are hoping that Maresca will implement his possession-based style of play at Stamford Bridge while utilising his experience of nurturing young talents.

Chelsea’s stars not participating in Euro 2024 or the Copa America reported for the start of pre-season this week, with the club sharing a footage of a training session to their official TikTok account.

The footage shows Maresca giving out tactical instructions to his players, and Chelsea fans were seriously impressed.

“In 28 seconds I saw Maresca doing more things to explain the exercises and ideas to the team than I saw in a year with Pochettino,” one fan commented on X, while another wrote: “He’s the one.”

Another fan wrote: “First impressions but he looks far more assertive and engaging than [Graham] Potter ever did in training vids.”

Others commented “We’re winning it all,” and “we got our own Pep regen I’m crying.”

Later this month Maresca and his squad will travel to the United States for friendlies against Celtic, Club America, Man City, Real Madrid and Inter Milan, before kicking off their Premier League campaign on August 18 against City at Stamford Bridge.
