Costa Rica opened its final tournament match against Panama with two quick goals, but was not able to earn enough points to advance to the knockout round.

Brazil meanwhile opened scoring against Colombia with a goal on a free kick by Raphinha.

Colombia was disallowed one goal, but tallied again to even the score.

Both teams will now advance.

After being unable to secure the win against Colombia, Brazil will now face Uruguay in the quarterfinals. Uruguay will be a tough team to beat behind manager Marcelo Bielsa after leading the tournament with a goal differential of +8 through the knockout stage.

Colombia will meanwhile be rated favorites in their own quarterfinals match against Panama as the country looks to continue a 25-game unbeaten streak, including a 10-game win streak, by advancing to the semifinals.

Argentina will continue their bid to repeat as champions during their quarterfinal bid against Ecuador. Having not yet conceded a tournament goal and has not lost a quarterfinal since 2011, Argentina is favorited to win.

Venezuela will be favorited to win over Canada with a spot in the semis on the line. Canada has scored just one goal in three matches, ranking 10th in the tournament, while Venezuela has tallied six.

With 2021 runners-up Brazil showing surprising struggles early in the tournament, the path could be clear for Argentina to repeat as tournament champions.
