On the sidelines of the Copa America final won by Argentina against Colombia (1-0), incidents took place during the entry of the supporters into the stadium, who delayed the kick-off of the match. On social networks, images of fans trying to infiltrate the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami through the ventilation system caused a stir.
An Afternoon of Chaos in Miami
Because in fact, before the match, the afternoon had started in chaos , the organizers complaining about the attitude of some supporters, who, themselves, suffered in the heat crowd movements and long wait, between arrests and fainting. The police used force and arrested several individuals who tried to enter the stadium apparently without tickets. After several incidents, the doors remained closed for several hours, the rescuers intervening for several fainting due to the heat (around 34 degrees) and the compactness of the crowd.
When the organizers finally reopened the gates, the fans’ entry was once again chaotic. “They treat us like animals, the organization is non-existent. In any case, nothing was ready to welcome 60,000 people,” regretted Cécilia Cabarelli, an Argentinian fan.
