It seems that ex-sweethearts Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo moved on with their lives after confirming their split last year. However, Padilla caught the attention of netizens after he seemingly greeted the actress on her birthday.

Padilla took to his Instagram Story at midnight on Tuesday, March 26, to upload an artfully blurred photo of what appeared to be a selfie of Bernardo with “Happy birthday” written in Japanese.

Padilla’s greeting came more than a month after he showed his appreciation for Bernardo during his contract signing with ABS-CBN’s Star Magic on Feb. 12, saying he would never forget his memories with his ex-girlfriend.

“Hinding hindi ko makakalimutan si Kathryn. Maraming salamat sa maraming taon na pinagsamahan. Hinding hindi mawawala sa puso ko ang memories at ating adventures at journeys na pinagsamahan. Thank you very much,” he said at the event.

The “A Very Good Girl” star, however, hasn’t mentioned Padilla since their split.

Padilla and Bernardo were in a relationship for 11 years before confirming their split in separate statements in November 2023. They were part of the long-running love team KathNiel, which built a dedicated fanbase through the years.
