EURO 2024: THE ALVARO MORATA IMBROGLIO, ULTIMATELY NOT SUSPENDED FOR FRANCE-SPAIN

In the confusion at the end of the match between Spain and Germany this Friday in the quarter-finals of the Euro, Alvaro Morata seemed to have received a yellow card, which would have meant a suspension for the semi-final against France. The striker will finally be present on Tuesday.

Alvaro Morata will be present on Tuesday (9 p.m.) for the Euro 2024 semi-final between France and Spain. During the quarter-final between La Roja and Germany this Friday (2-1), the striker seemed to have received a yellow card in the confusion while he was on the bench.

Two suspended and Pedri injured

Under threat of suspension, Alvaro Morata would have been deprived of the semi-final in the event of a yellow card. “The yellow card was not for me but for Fabian Ruiz,” explained the captain of La Roja. The yellow card does indeed appear in the name of the PSG player on the UEFA website.

On the other hand, defender Robin Le Normand and full-back Dani Carvajal will be suspended for this semi-final. Coming off injured in the 7th minute on Friday, Pedri is also expected to miss the match. His replacement Dani Olmo nevertheless made his mark with a goal and an assist.

Victorious over Portugal after a penalty shootout (0-0, 5-3 on penalties), the French team also validated its place in the last four this Friday. The Blues, solid defensively since the start of the tournament, will have to resolve the offensive problems they encounter, with only three goals scored, none of which were in open play.
