Rico Blanco credits Maris Racal in new version of song Kisapmata

Rico releases new version of “Kisapmata,” thanking Maris for being part of it.

Rico Blanco releases the visualizer of his song “Kisapmata,” and includes Maris Racal’s name in the credits page. This comes two weeks after Maris announced their breakup.

Sa kabila ng hiwalayan ng Kapamilya actress-singer na si Maris Racal, 26, at Rivermaya vocalist na si Rico Blanco, 51, may ilang fans pa ring hindi pa maka-move on.

Lalo pa’t sa inilabas na official visualizer ng bagong bersiyon ni Rico ng Rivermaya classic song na “Kisapmata,” pinasalamatan niya ang dating nobya.

Ang kantang “Kisapmata,” na si Rico mismo ang sumulat, ay tungkol sa pag-iibigan ng magkasintahan na sa isang iglap ay bigla na lang naglaho.

Una itong ni-release noong February 14, 1996.

Nitong July 27, 2024, inilabas ni Rico sa YouTube ang bagong areglo niya sa kanta.

Sa caption ng video, nag-special thank you siya kay Maris, na nagsilbi raw na “telecaster” habang shinu-shoot niya ang music video.

Kasama ni Maris sa credit ni Rico ang mga musician na sina Mark Escueta (Guitar Amp), Marco Bachini (Acoustic Guitar), at Zild Benitez (12-string Guitar).

NETIZENS REACTION

Agad namang napansin ito ng maraming netizens kaya nag-iwan sila ng komento sa YouTube video ni Rico.

Karamihan sa mga ito ay umaasa pa ring magkakabalikan ang dalawa.

Komento ng isang netizen (published as is), “I can feel his sadness in this video. I think Maris brought a lot of joy in his life because they share the same passion through music. MARIS-RICO BREAKUP

Noong July 12, isinapubliko ni Maris ang malungkot na kinahantungan ng limang taong relasyon nila ni Rico.

Hindi direktang sinabi ni Maris ang dahilan ng kanilang breakup ngunit may mga binanggit siya tungkol sa mga desisyong gusto niyang tahakin sa buhay.

Bagamat masaya, nagmamahalan, at kuntento naman sila sa isa’t isa, dumating daw kasi sa puntong nagbago ang kanyang gusto at prayoridad, bagay na agad niyang sinabi kay Rico.

Emosyunal na pahayag ni Maris: “Rico and I, our universe was so beautiful. It was full of love, laughter, music, everything.

“Sa five years namin together, we were always on the same page.

“I don’t know what happened to me. Maybe I turned to the next page and saw a new perspective sa life. I had visions of who I want to become, and how I want to evolve.

“I’m so curious about the world and the truth is, I am going through changes.

“And alam naman natin yung change is either good or bad. But what I hate about change is it’s inevitable.

“Hindi mo siya matatakasan. Wala ka nang puwedeng ibang gawin but to confront it and face it.

“So, yeah, I told Rico about it. I told him my problems and my issues.

“And he took it like a man. He took it like a man.”
