Paulo Avelino replaces Xian Lim in new soap

After Xian LIm replaced John Lloyd Cruz, the upcoming Kapamilya teleserye “Bridges of Love” has another change in casting.

ABS-CBN said in a press statement that Paulo Avelino has replaced Xian in the teleserye starring Jericho Rosales and Maja Salvador.

“Due to public clamor, ABS-CBN, through the Star Creatives business unit, is bringing back the loveteam of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim in a primetime teleserye to be launched this year. Because of this development, Xian will not pursue the teleserye “Bridges of Love” with Maja Salvador and Jericho Rosales. The role of Carlos Antonio in the said series will now be played by Paulo Avelino.”

From John Lloyd to Xian to Paulo

After their teleserye “Ina, Kapatid, Anak” ended, Kim and Xian went their separate ways in TV projects. Kim was paired with Coco Martin in “Ikaw Lamang.”

While Kim and Xian took a break from doing teleseryes together, they did several movies, including “Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo,” “Bride for Rent” and “Past Tense.”

ABS-CBN first asked John Lloyd Cruz if he can play Carlos Antonio in the teleserye. But the actor had to settle his network contract. So the role was offered to Xian and Paulo instead.

Before the change in casting, Jericho said he’s excited to work with Xian.

“I’ve heard that he’s been working hard on the role. For me, as an actor, I’ll give him my support.”
