John Cena the Celtic fan?! WWE legend puts Scottish giants ‘at the front of the list’ as rumoured Tottenham fan searches for football team to support

WHAT HAPPENED?

Cena has been one of the most recognizable stars to have performed at the WWE since his debut with the popular wrestling show in 2001. The 46-year-old is finally set to call it time on his career as a wrestling performer in 2025, and he is looking to start supporting a football club soon.

WHAT CENA SAID

Speaking to talkSPORT, Cena said: “I always say I am looking for a team. Everybody says I’m a Tottenham fan, there has been talks of me being a Chelsea fan. I say I’m looking for a team. I am still trying to figure out the game, the rivalries, so if you have a good pitch I am willing to listen.”

After his comments, radio presenter Shebahn Aherne – a lifelong Celtic supporter, tried to convince the wrestler to support the Scottish side. To which Cena replied: “That’s a decent pitch. I’m from Boston and our basketball team is called the Celtics. So, I’ll put that at the front of the list.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Suppose Cena does indeed become a fan of the joint most successful club in Scotland. In that case, he will join the likes of Rod Stewart, James McAvoy, Gerard Butler, Paolo Nutini, Lewis Capaldi and Kevin Bridges as celebrity supporters of Celtic.
