Zirkzee shines, MU has a smooth start in the 2024/25 Premier League

(MU vs Fulham football results) – New signing Joshua Zirkzee scored to help MU win all 3 points against Fulham, in the opening match of the 2024/25 Premier League.

Early morning of August 17 (Vietnam time), Manchester United had their opening match of the 2024/25 Premier League against Fulham at Old Trafford. Despite receiving enthusiastic cheers from the fans, the Red Devils still appeared confused in the first minutes of the match, allowing the opponent to put pressure on goalkeeper Onana’s goal.

Fulham started the game confidently and continuously caused difficulties for MU’s defense. The visitors’ attacks repeatedly put Onana’s goal in a state of alarm. However, after being pressured by their opponents, Manchester United gradually regained control of the game and began to create dangerous situations towards Fulham’s goal.

In the 29th minute of the match, Bruno Fernandes had a clear chance when he received a pass that tore through the Fulham defense. With determination, Fernandes fired a powerful shot straight into the middle of the goal, but Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno made an excellent save.

Not long after, in the 34th minute, Bruno Fernandes had another chance when facing Leno. However, once again, his shot could not overcome the solidity of the away team’s goalkeeper.

The first half ended goalless. In the second half, MU continued to dominate the game but had difficulty penetrating Fulham’s solid defense. Meanwhile, the away team took advantage of sharp counter-attacks to create a few dangerous opportunities.

As the match was coming to an end and it seemed like it would end in a draw, the new signing shone. In the 88th minute, receiving a pass from Alejandro Garnacho, Zirkzee fired a low, tricky shot into the left corner of the goal, bringing home the only goal of the match. This was also the decisive goal that helped MU win 1-0 on the opening day of the 2024/25 Premier League.
