Russell Westbrook set triple-double records for several seasons before Nikola Jokic took the NBA lead. Russell Westbrook, a Los Angeles Clippers point guard, showcased his basketball skills to the NBA community. Westbrook slammed Nikola Jokic following his successful game against the Denver Nuggets, noting his triple-double. The Joker dropped 17-10-36 in a losing cause. But Westbrook had a surprise response to the Joker.

Soon after the game between the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets, Russell was asked for an interview, and during that interview, Russ was questioned about Jokic’s triple-double.

“Well listen, ain’t nobody like me. Ain’t nobody like me. We’re gonna stop that right there. Nobody like me. Nikola is a hell of a player, but he’s not me, I’m not him. Obviously, he’s won MVP, a tough guard, excellent passer, knows how to play the right way, competes hard. Tonight we got the best of him.” Westbrook said during that interview.

Westbrook, after a long recovery from injury, played and finished with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, despite being years past his prime.

Nikola Jokic is close to breaking Russell Westbrook’s record

Russell Westbrook didn’t appreciate the reporter’s questions. given that he has 198 career triple-doubles, the most in NBA history. In addition, with 42 triple-doubles in 2016–17, he now holds the record for most in a single season. Interestingly, he was chosen MVP of the regular season that year.

But Nikola Jokic is close to breaking the record. Currently, the Denver Nuggets star player has 129 triple-doubles under his belt. The only difference is that he has been constantly approaching breaking that record.

However, Russell Westbrook has recently recovered from the injury after a long gap. It will take time to play like he did previously, but hopefully he will close the gap.
