The NBA draft is almost here and the fans are excited to see the teams draft the next generation of players who aspire to become the next big thing in the NBA. French talent Alex Sarr is one of them, he currently plays for the Perth Wildcats of the Basketball League of Australia or the NBL.

Alex Sarr is projected to possibly be the next big thing in the NBA if the right team can draft him. He has a huge build standing at 7ft 1in or 2.16 m reminding the fans of the previous number-one draft pick Victor Wembanyama. Sarr has represented France at the U17 and U19 levels in the World Cups. He was a key factor in his team winning the bronze and silver medals at the competition.

Sarr is currently 18 years old and spent his last season in the NBL playing for the Wildcats. he was enrolled through the Next Stars program which allows aspiring professional athletes to complete the year out of high school required by the NBA to apply for the Draft. In his time in the NBL, Sarr averaged 9.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks which is a respectable stat line for an eighteen-year-old.

It will be interesting to see which team will draft the French talent. He will be a great addition to many teams given his build and the defensive abilities that will come with it. The league has already witnessed the case of Victor Wembanyama and his meteoric rise in the NBA in his rookie year. So, it will be exciting to see where he ends up.
