Kapamilya daily noontime variety show “It’s Showtime” has recently seen a dip in viewership, hitting its lowest TV ratings since it began simulcasting on GMA Network.
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey, “It’s Showtime” experienced a decline in ratings last week, marking its lowest point since it started airing on GMA’s main channel. Despite this drop, it remains the country’s leading noontime program.
On Monday, August 12, “It’s Showtime” registered a 7.0 percent rating, 2.9 percent higher than “EAT…Bulaga’s” 4.1 percent.
The following day, Tuesday, August 13, the show maintained its 7.0 percent rating, staying ahead of “EAT…Bulaga,” which had a 4.0 percent rating.
By midweek on Wednesday, August 14, “It’s Showtime” saw a slight increase, reaching 7.1 percent, 3.6 percent more than “EAT…Bulaga’s” 3.5 percent rating.
On Thursday, August 15, the show dropped to its lowest point at 6.6 percent but still maintained a lead of 2.7 percent over “EAT…Bulaga,” which scored 3.9 percent.
On Friday, August 16, “It’s Showtime” held steady at 6.6 percent, widening its lead as “EAT…Bulaga” fell to 3.6 percent.
The weekend brought a significant improvement, with “It’s Showtime” climbing to 7.6 percent on Saturday, August 17, further widening its margin over “EAT…Bulaga,” which posted a 3.9 percent rating.
Historically, August has been a challenging month for the Kapamilya noontime show, but it could also be a preparation period for a stronger ratings season as they gear up for “Magpasikat 2024” in celebration of their 15th anniversary.
