Jeff Ross has broken his silence on how Tom Brady really felt about the Robert Kraft “massage” joke made by the comedian on Sunday night.

Ross was among the many notable celebrities who attended “The Roast of Tom Brady,” which streamed live on Netflix two nights ago. Kevin Hart hosted the event, featuring speeches from Ross, Kraft, Bill Belichick, Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, and Kim Kardashian, among others.

As part of his speech, Ross quoted Brady before asking, “Would you like a massage?” A seemingly angry Brady then got up, walked over and said to Ross, “Don’t say that (expletive again).”

Many viewers believed Brady was legitimately upset with the comment made by Ross. But when the latter appeared on “The Rich Eisen Show” on Monday, Ross stated that Brady wasn’t actually angry about the “massage” joke:

“Come on, no way. No way. He was having fun, you know. That’s his dad…Robert Kraft is like a father figure to him. He was just showing his love for Robert Kraft, and Robert Kraft loved it. We had a great talk afterwards, and he was so happy that I gave him a shoutout, a solute. It was beautiful.”

Other than the Kraft “massage” line, Brady didn’t express any anger or disgust with the other roasts of him. Even some jokes from old head coach Bill Belichick didn’t seem to bother Brady, even though it’s well-known by now that their relationship soured during TB12’s final years in New England.

Tom Brady & Robert Kraft Made History Together In New England

During Brady’s 20-year run in New England (2000 to 2019), the Patriots won nine AFC Championships and six Super Bowls.

The franchise didn’t have a single losing season after Brady took over as the starter in 2001, and they only failed to win the division twice (2002 and 2008, when Brady missed almost the entire year with a torn ACL). Even when Belichick reportedly wanted to ditch Brady in 2017, Kraft had the two sort out their differences. That led to three more AFC East division titles, two conference championships and a Super Bowl 53 victory.

While Brady and Belichick have both avoided publicly discussing where they stand today, it’s obvious that TB12 and Kraft are still as close as ever. As Ross noted, it’s almost a father-son relationship with the two legends.
