With a 133-110 loss to the Warriors, the Houston Rockets’ hopes of finishing in the No. 10 position in the Western Conference ranking, with the two teams now separated by four games. The Rockets never recovered after trailing by 14 points halfway through the first quarter. Rockets head coach Ime Udoka has a different point of view on this.
They allowed the Warriors to shoot 17 of 35 from beyond the arc, accounting for 58.8% of their total field goal percentage. Golden State’s Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Trayce Jackson-Davis all had at least 20 points.
Rockets head coach Ime Udoka isn’t satisfied with the performance of the Rockets and criticised them after the game during an interview.
“It looked like the moment was too big for a lot of players out there. Looked like deer in headlights a little bit. Either looked soft or scared, one or the other. That’s two bad things for a lot of our guys to have. Didn’t rise up to the moment like I thought we would.” Ime Udoka said during that interview.
Ime Udoka was very frustrated with Houston Rockets
After the game, Udoka was very frustrated with his team. Houston was three games behind Golden State for the final play. The Rockets had the opportunity to not only cut the gap on the team in 10th place but also make a small difference.
The Rockets, who will start sophomore Jabari Smith Jr. and rookie Amen Thompson tonight, remain a youthful team. Jalen Green recently showed signs of promise, but his performance that night was not good, scoring only 13 points. Despite their experience, Dillon Brooks and Fred VanVleet were unable to defeat a team featuring Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Stephen Curry.
Houston appeared unprepared for what would undoubtedly be their biggest game of the year, trailing by double digits in the first few minutes of play as Golden State got off to a fast start from the opening tip.
