DK Metcalf is one of the NFL’s best wide receivers in the current era. His personality and prolific statistics make him one of the most entertaining players to watch when he is healthy and racking up yards for the Seattle Seahawks.

Recently, Metcalf has been mentioned in trade rumors. The Seahawks reportedly listened to calls from the Steelers about the star receiver, and according to an X post by NFL Rumors, the Kansas City Chiefs also talked to the Seahawks about Metcalf before the 2024 NFL Draft.

It should be noted that the Chiefs drafted Mecole Hardman nine picks before Seattle selected Metcalf with their second-round pick at number 64 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, which may leave some fans questioning the possibility of the DK Metcalf rumors being true.

Could The Seahawks Be In Talks To Trade DK Metcalf To The Kansas City Chiefs?

The Kansas City Chiefs had been looking for a receiver to bring on to the roster after having problems at the position during their 2023 Super Bowl championship season. It didn’t help that emerging star Rashee Rice got into some off-season trouble, further dismantling the Chiefs receiving corps.

The Chiefs ended up taking Texas Longhorns star Xavier Worthy with the 28th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to shore up their receiving corps, which may explain why DK Metcalf is no longer in the conversation for Kansas City.

Metcalf hauled 66 receptions for over 1,100 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2023, earning himself a Pro Bowl selection. He has hit over 1,000 yards in three of his five NFL seasons, which may explain the Chiefs’ interest in him in the first place.

One could only wonder what a quartet of Patrick Mahomes, Xavier Worthy, Travis Kelce, and DK Metcalf would have looked like in 2024.
