Toronto Raptors center Jontay Porter is reported to have owned and operated a VIP betting account at FanDuel and wagered millions between 2021 and 2023.

ESPN revealed back in March that the NBA was investigating Porter because of some unusual betting activity on his prop bets.

The Action Network is now reporting that the player made over 1,000 bets via FanDuel and wagered millions, citing sources.

He was firing all of the time,” a source was quoted as saying.

One source told the publication that the sportsbook did not accept any bets from Porter on the NBA or college basketball.

The center played for three different G League teams during the period within which he was betting. All activity halted a few weeks before he signed a two-way contract with the Raptors.

How The NBA Began To Suspect Jontay Porter

Jontay Porter began drawing attention after underperforming in two games. Those outings coincided with massive profits for bettors, per DraftKings data. He left the floor early on two occasions, complaining of ailments. People who bet the under on his props profited both times.

The player’s agent did not return a request for comment from the Action Network, nor did an NBA spokesperson.

Colorado gaming regulators asked state sportsbooks to report any account believed to have been operated by Porter last Thursday. They were given up until this Monday to submit findings.

We are requesting that you review all patron accounts thoroughly to identify if Jontay Porter has ever had an account with your sportsbook,” a letter read. “If so, please review Mr. Porter’s account for wagering activities on NBA-affiliated games. Note that all wagering activities by Mr. Porter on NBA-affiliated games shall be reported to the Division immediately.

The NBA prohibits wagers of any kind by players or employees on its games or affiliated properties, which includes the G League and WNBA. Betting on other sports is not explicitly prohibited.

Porter is on leave from the Raptors amid the investigation.
