Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley is facing significant punishment from the NBA after an ill-advised exchange with fans during Thursday night’s Game 6 loss to the Indiana Pacers.
The Bucks have been eliminated from the playoffs, with Indy claiming a 120-98 win at home that will see them play the New York Knicks in the upcoming second round.
Beverley was clearly unhappy with how things turned out, as he got into an altercation with some Pacers fans behind the Bucks bench.
With 2:32 left on the clock, the guard threw the basketball into the crowd, hitting a female fan in the head. He asked for the ball to be returned and then fired it right back at another fan after receiving it.

Patrick Beverley Should Be In Some Hot Water With The NBA
The veteran didn’t get punished during the game, but the NBA will likely come back to this and could throw the book at him, as such interactions with fans are frowned upon, especially after 2004’s “Malice at the Palace” fracas.
It would be a surprise if the league doesn’t hit Beverley with a heavy fine and/or suspension, though what prompted the 35-year-old’s actions is unclear.
Patrick Beverly finished Thursday’s game with six points, five assists, and two rebounds, shooting 3-for-11 from the field, a far cry from his performance in Game 5, when he scored 13 points, assisted 12 baskets, and made two steals.
Beverly will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Any potential suspension would have to be served at the start of 2024/25 as the Bucks’ season is over.
