For what seems like the third or fourth time in his illustrious career, we are trying to figure out where LeBron James will end up playing next season.

LeBron James just finished his 21st NBA season, which saw him average 25.7 points, 8.3 assists, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.3 steals. He shot 54% from the field and a career-high 41% on 3-pointers in 71 games as he made the All-Star team for the 20th consecutive season.

He will be 40 years old in December, and yet he still remains one of the game’s best players.

James and the Los Angeles Lakers lost 4-1 to the Denver Nuggets and were eliminated by them for the second consecutive season. This time around, LeBron could be facing them once again, but in the NBA Finals.

A new rumor says LeBron James to the Philadelphia 76ers is “going to happen.”

The rumor goes on to state that Bronny James has spoken to assistant coach Mike Nardi of Villanova to discuss playing his sophomore season there because James wants to “keep the family close.”

That means you could have LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Bronny James all with the Philadelphia 76ers at some point in the future.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski added more gas to the flame that LeBron James could head East.

“Out East, the Philadelphia 76ers inquired about trading for James ahead of February’s trade deadline. So clearly, Philadelphia would have an interest in using its cap space on LeBron this summer. It’s worth noting that Bronny James could transfer to Duquesne, an Atlantic 10 Conference school in Pittsburgh, according to ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski. LeBron’s high school teammate, Dru Joyce, is the head coach. And Philadelphia to Pittsburgh is just a short flight.”

LeBron has a player option with the Los Angeles Lakers for 2024–25, but he wants to play alongside his son before retiring, and it appears the 76ers can get the job done.

The 76ers are expected to have among the highest cap spaces in the league this offseason, with about $60 million available. This is a must for any team hoping to sign James.

Philadelphia now owns a first-round pick and a second-round pick (from either Chicago or New Orleans) in the 2024 NBA Draft. In 2026, 2028, and 2029, the Sixers will also have two firsts.
