Carla Abellana revealed that she and Tom Rodriguez are officially divorced.

The actress shared the update on their separation in an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Friday, June 28. “We are divorced, recognized na po ‘yan ng korte, local court po natin dito,” she said.

According to Carla, they haven’t spoken nor seen each other since. “We don’t communicate anymore,” she continued.

The local star noted that she has forgiven Tom 100%, stressing that “life is so short.”

“Ang hirap po ng may bitbit na galit because life is so short. ‘Pag you hold on to anger, it will just ruin you, it will manifest sa iyong health, dala-dala niyo po ‘yan eh,” she explained. “I believe naman po na hindi kayo fully makakapag-move on kung may konting galit pa din pong maiiwan.”

While Carla’s ready to cross paths with Tom again when the time comes, she opened up that she’s not interested in making small talk with him. “Wala naman po akong kailangan sabihin.”

When asked what she’s become after her failed marriage, Carla said: “Stronger, wiser, and vulnerable at the same time, which is still good.”

Tom and Carla got married in October 2021 after a 7-year relationship. They sparked breakup rumors after Carla was spotted without her wedding ring in early 2022. Tom also deactivated his Instagram account a few days after social media users noticed that Carla was no longer in his following and follower list.

Tom, who is an American citizen, announced their separation in June 2022 without getting into much detail about their split. “I left the Philippines for the US last March 13, with the realization that despite all my efforts, Carla had already given up on our marriage,” he said in a statement posted by his manager. “It was not a perfect relationship, but we both know how much we loved each other,” he said.

Tom came back to the Philippines early this year and later revealed he’s now seeing someone else.
