In the wake of veteran actress Jaclyn Jose’s passing on Saturday, March 2, Coco Martin, known as the Teleserye King, revealed some eerie occurrences experienced during the filming of their teleserye, ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.’

Coco reminisced about the final moments spent with Jaclyn on the set of their ABS-CBN series, shedding light on the profound impact of her poignant portrayal in their scenes together.

Following the heartbreaking news, Coco, accompanied by fellow co-star Cherry Pie Picache, swiftly made their way to Jaclyn’s residence, prompted by a call from Jaclyn’s sister, Veronica Jones.

Expressing deep sorrow over Jaclyn’s sudden departure, Coco emphasized the significant void left by her absence in the showbiz community.

Recalling a specific scene from ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ Coco recounted Jaclyn’s emotional depth as she bid farewell to Ivana Alawi’s character, Dolores Espinas, which prompted him to suggest reshooting the scene to ease her tears.

“Kasi parang isa-isa nang nawawala yung mga character sa kulungan, eh.” Jaclyn resoned to Coco.

Throughout the days preceding her passing, Jaclyn’s affectionate gestures and heartfelt expressions of love, including frequent embraces and “I love you”s, left a lasting impression on Coco and their colleagues.

Moreover, Coco shared anecdotes of their camaraderie during the Panagbenga Festival in Baguio City, unaware of the impending tragedy.

Upon learning of Jaclyn’s demise, Coco and Cherry Pie immediately paid their respects at her residence, joining a somber gathering of friends and family.

“Pagdating ko pa lang ng Baguio, ikinukuwento ko na siya (Jaclyn) kay Cherry Pie. Pie alam mo pinagkukuwentuhan namin ni Mommy Jane si Ma’m Charito Solis, sina FPJ (Fernando Poe, Jr.). Tapos yung gabi after ng show sa Baguio, siya pa rin yung pinagkukuwentuhan namin. Yun pala, hindi namin alam may nangyari na pala,” Coco shared.

Expressing gratitude for Jaclyn’s unwavering support and mentorship, Coco acknowledged her pivotal role in shaping his career and guiding him through the intricacies of the entertainment industry.

During a eulogy held in Jaclyn’s honor at the ABS-CBN and ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ night, Coco’s emotions ran high as he praised Jaclyn’s profound maternal love for her daughters, Andi and Gwen, underscoring her legacy not only as an actress but also as a nurturing mother.
