ABS-CBN’s primetime series ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ is gearing up for an electrifying second season, promising viewers a thrilling continuation of the action-packed narrative led by Coco Martin.

Scheduled to premiere on Monday, February 19, the upcoming season of the show will see Martin’s character, Tanggol, stepping into a new phase of his life post-incarceration, as he ventures into the underworld of Quiapo and Manila.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Martin revealed that Tanggol’s journey will involve learning the ropes of navigating the gritty streets of Quiapo and Manila. He highlighted the pivotal role of Marcelo, portrayed by Tito Nonie Buencamino, in guiding Tanggol to utilize his intellect and skills effectively, steering clear of unnecessary violence.

Addressing recent plot developments and viewer reactions, particularly the exit of Lovi Poe’s character, Mokang, Martin reassured fans that the series would continue to deliver unexpected twists and gripping scenes.

Promising an action-packed second season, Martin stressed the importance of pushing creative boundaries to achieve lasting impact. Despite the competitive landscape of television ratings, Martin emphasized that the show’s focus remained on delivering high-quality scenes and storytelling.

Expressing gratitude to the show’s dedicated viewers, Martin acknowledged the inevitable comparisons to his previous project, ‘FPJ’s: Ang Probinsyano,’ but humbly acknowledged that replicating its success might be a tall order.
