Kapuso actor David Licauco recently opened up about his past experiences in love during a media conference for his upcoming film ‘That Kind of Love,’ co-starring Barbie Forteza.

In a candid revelation, David shared the lengths he went to express his deep affection for a girl he fell for, recounting how he traveled to South Korea just to be with her.

“I am a softee inside. When I’m in a relationship, I’m the only one who’s crying. I’m clingy. Grabe akong mag-effort,” he confessed, highlighting his commitment to nurturing relationships.

David recalled the sacrifices he made for love, including sleeping in a public toilet during his stay in Korea while waiting for his beloved.

“I didn’t have money. The second day, I rented an affordable room. I still didn’t have money at that time. I even bought her flowers. I was courting her. I wanted to prove, this is what I could do. This is what I could offer. I’d move mountains for you. But I didn’t end up with that girl,” he reflected, sharing the depth of his romantic spirit.

Despite his personal challenges, David expressed gratitude for the opportunities that have come his way in showbiz. Initially planning to focus on his business ventures, he was drawn back into acting by GMA Network’s compelling offers, including notable roles like ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’ and successful partnerships with Barbie Forteza in various projects and endorsements.

Reflecting on his career journey, David acknowledged the transition from teleseryes to movies, noting the adjustment in acting styles. “I’m used to teleseryes where you always do one takes. I really worked on my patience because I’m not used to doing films,” he admitted, underscoring his commitment to honing his craft in different mediums.

Before entering showbiz, David gained recognition as the first runner-up in Mr. and Ms. Chinatown 2014. His guest appearance in Vice Ganda’s ‘The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin’ further expanded his presence in the entertainment industry.

Directed by Catherine Camarillo, ‘That Kind of Love’ is slated for nationwide release on July 10. Additionally, David will star alongside Barbie Forteza in GMA Prime’s upcoming historical drama series, ‘Pulang Araw.’
