King and Queen of prime time television to tie knot at the end of the year

Philippine primetime TV King and Queen Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera are expected to tie the knot on December 30 at the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral in Manila, Philippines, according to GMA news.

The announcement came following Dantes’ proposal, live on the set of Rivera’s eponymous dance programme, coinciding with celebrations for the actress’ 30th birthday.

In a grand display in front of a live audience, Dantes, guesting on Rivera’s show gave her a bouquet of flowers and asked her to sit on the hot seat while he took everyone down memory lane showing pictures of their sweetest memories together. The actor then went down on his knees and asked his girlfriend of five years to be his wife. The overwhelmed Marian could barely say a word while she happily accepted his promise ring.

Considered by legions of fans as Philippine showbiz’s “Royal Couple”, the reel and real life sweethearts have been dating since they met on the set of GMA’s hit series Marimar, where they played the leading roles.

Since then, the DongYan love team has amassed a huge following. They have starred opposite each other in other top-rating projects like Endless Love and My Beloved.

In an earlier interview, Dingdong shared how much he loves and treasures Marian.

Describing their working relationship during their first few projects together, Dingdong said, “I think what helps is that we are both sincere. From day one that was the case. Regardless if we were together or not, how we are to each other translates on screen. Especially when we do our roles, we want to portray it right all the time. I guess that’s it.”

Both treasured assets of GMA network, the Kapuso stars have gamely signed on to a full coverage of their engagement and wedding, complete with an official Royal Wedding website and gallery for their fans across the world to follow and take part in the year’s much anticipated celebrity “I-Dos”.
