KLAY Thompson’s time with the Golden State Warriors has come to an end.

One the greatest shooters of all time, Thompson bid the Warriors goodbye as he is set to sign with the Dallas Mavericks on a three-year, $50 million deal, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Thompson leaves the Bay Area a legend after 11 seasons with Golden State – forming the greatest shooting backcourt of all-time with Stephen Curry, collectively known as “The Splash Brothers.”

A Historic Run

In those 11 years, Thompson won four championships with the squad, while making the All-Star team five times, the All-NBA third team twice and a defensive second team selection once.

But beyond the accolades, his partnership with Curry would forever change how basketball is to be played as they built their dynasty from behind the three-point line, making teams panic with their impeccable sniping.

In his time with the Warriors, Thompson put up averages of 19.6 points per game on 41.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc, and will be leaving the Bay Area as the player with the sixth most threes made ever at 2,481.

Of those in the top ten, Thompson has the third-highest percentage only behind Kyle Korver (42.9) and Curry (42.6).

Just What The Doctor Ordered For The Mavs

His addition to the Mavericks, who are coming off an NBA finals appearance against the Boston Celtics, will be vital for the Western Conference powerhouse who’s looking to stay ahead of the division.

The 34-year-old’s shooting gives shot creators in Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving more room to operate, and one of the best to ever shoot the ball waiting should the double come.

Though he’s been riddled with injuries over the past couple of seasons, Thompson remains a deadeye from downtown as he made 38.7 percent of his nine attempts from beyond the arc last year.
