CAELAN Tiongson will officially be an option for teams in the upcoming PBA Draft.

The Fil-Am forward has already submitted his application to the league office in Libis, Quezon City for the July 14 proceedings.

However, Tiongson could miss the rookie selection event itself, as he’s booked to play for Strong Group Athletics in the oncoming Jones Cup slated from July 13-21 in Taipei.

The 32-year-old is being represented by EMBM (Espiritu Manotoc Basketball Management).

Tiongson is the latest to formally apply for the draft after Evan Nelle, Ben Philips, CJ Cansino, Francis Escandor, DJ Mitchell, Calvin Payawal, CJ Catapusan, and Paul Garcia.

Reigniting the Alab

A stint in the PBA has been a long time coming for the Biola University product who suited up for Chong Son Kung FU in the now-defunct Asean Basketball Legaue (ABL) before taking his act to Alab Pilipinas.

Just before the pandemic, the Pomona, California native decided to retire from basketball, only to make a basketball comeback two years later with the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan’s T1 League.
