In the midst of the tumultuous speculations surrounding the split of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, actor Joshua Garcia vehemently refutes claims that he confirmed the alleged involvement of Padilla with actress Andrea Brillantes.

Garcia took to his social media, particularly his X (formerly Twitter) page, to address the false reports circulating online.

He shared a screenshot of a quote card falsely attributed to him, wherein he supposedly commented on Padilla’s breakup with Bernardo.

The statement in the quote card reads, “Matagal na kitang sinabihan na ayusin mo ‘yung ginagawa mo at ‘yung relasyon niyo ni Kath, pero hindi mo ginawa at tinuloy mo ‘yung mga kalokohang ginagawa niyo ni Andrea.”

Garcia explicitly labeled the post as “fake news” and expressed his frustration over the spreading misinformation. The quote card was attributed to a Facebook satire page named Breaking News.

The breakup between Padilla and Bernardo, who had been in a relationship since 2012, was confirmed on November 30.

Prior to their announcement, speculations about a third party involving Andrea Brillantes circulated within showbiz circles.

Neither Padilla, Bernardo, nor Brillantes has directly addressed these rumors, maintaining a degree of silence on the matter. Notably, fans observed that Brillantes and Bernardo no longer follow each other on Instagram, adding fuel to the gossip mill.
