In an exclusive interview with Mega Magazine for its April issue, Kathryn Bernardo candidly discussed her journey of moving on following her breakup with ex-boyfriend Daniel Padilla, marking the first time she publicly addressed the topic.

Bernardo shared that she made a concerted effort to ensure that her professional commitments were not affected by the breakup. She expressed her desire not to be perceived as a victim seeking sympathy from others.

“You have to experience all the process, all the pain, lahat,” Bernardo stated during the interview. “But I always make sure that when it comes to my work, nothing is affected.”

Acknowledging the deep impact of forgiveness, Bernardo emphasized that forgiving someone doesn’t necessarily mean inviting them back into one’s life. She stressed that forgiveness was essential for her own peace of mind and clarity.

“I forgive you for my peace of mind, for clarity, and for everything. But it doesn’t mean na pwede kang bumalik,” she asserted.

Bernardo also shared insights into her healing process, noting that she focused on counting her blessings and staying busy. She mentioned seeking brief periods to recharge when necessary but affirmed that she now feels at peace with where she is in life.

The actress concluded by expressing her contentment with her current state of being and emphasized her belief that she has healed from the breakup.

Bernardo and Padilla announced their separation on November 30 after an 11-year relationship, marking the end of an era for one of Philippine showbiz’s most beloved couples.
