Manny Pacquiao Has No Doubt Who The Best Fighter In The World Is

For many years, Manny Pacquiao was regarded as the number one fighter on the planet.

‘Pac-Man’ has taken on many stars of the sport across his 72 professional bouts and picked up world titles in eight weight divisions along the way, including many at welterweight.

Seconds Out asked him what he made of the fight between Terrence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr, which was for the undisputed championship in his old division last July, and he called out both men.

“That fight, if there’s a rematch, the same thing happens, but I’m willing to challenge both of them.”

The 45-year-old was then clarified what weight he would fight at should he take on Crawford.

“147”

With Crawford topping plenty of pundits’ pound-for-pound list, Pacquiao was asked who he thought was the best fighter on the planet right now. He went with the Japanese ‘Monster’ who is one of only three male boxers in history to become the undisputed champion in two weight classes in the four-belt era – Naoya Inoue.

“For me it’s Inoue.”

At 31-years old Inoue is a four division world champion and is one of the most fearsome punchers in the sport with 24 of his 27 victories coming by knockout. He is yet to taste defeat and not many can identify a challenger who poses that risk. His return is expected on September 9 this year in his home country, with TJ Doheny a frontrunner.

Pacquiao hasn’t fought since 2021 when he lost to Yordenis Ugas by unanimous decision, though he has long since been linked with the likes of Conor Benn, Amir Khan, and even tried to make a run for the Paris Olympics this year but was ruled out due to his age. Most recently it is Marios Barrios who has come up in discussions.
