Former child star Mutya Orquia, known for her roles in hit teleseryes like ‘Mutya’ and ‘Darna,’ is gearing up for a new chapter in her career as she approaches her 18th birthday on May 3.

In a recent interview with ABS-CBN News, Orquia revealed her aspirations for more adventurous and challenging projects in the entertainment industry.

Orquia expressed her eagerness to explore action-packed roles, citing her interest in activities like boxing and Spartan races as preparation for physically demanding characters.

“Lagi po akong nagba-boxing and Spartan kasi po ‘yun sana ‘yung gusto kong tahakin na role, which is action po,” she shared. Her passion for adventure extends beyond her career ambitions, as she believes it allows her to discover more about herself.

Despite her young age, Orquia has long been drawn to action roles, a dream she harbored even before her involvement in the iconic ‘Darna’ series. She aims to follow in the footsteps of seasoned actresses like Maja Salvador and Angel Locsin, envisioning characters with no superpowers but engaging in intense fight scenes.

As she prepares to enter adulthood, Orquia emphasized that she is in no rush and expressed gratitude for the guidance provided by Star Magic throughout her career journey. The agency’s support and advice to remain humble and patient have been invaluable to her growth as an artist.

Teasing her upcoming projects, Orquia hinted at a confidential endeavor and her role in the movie ‘When Magic Hurts,’ directed by Gabby Ramos. In the film, she joins fellow Star Magic artists Beaver Magtalas and Maxine Trinidad in portraying characters whose stories promise to captivate audiences with their resilience and determination.
