NOW, it’s Rey Nambatac’s turn to prove he deserves to belong at TNT after a long, arduous wheeling and dealing to get his services.
The TNT-Blackwater trade for the services of the feisty guard out of Letran was finally given a go by the PBA on Tuesday after a series of tweaks and revisions since SPIN.ph first broke the story a month ago.
In its final alteration, the Tropang Giga will get the services of Nambatac from the Bossing in exchange for Kib Montalbo, Jewel Ponferada, and a future second-round pick (Season 53).
Nambatac and the rest of the parties concerned began practicing with their new teams on Monday.
In its original form, the trade was supposed to have Nambatac being dealt for Montalbo and a second-round pick- a deal that the PBA trade committee thumbed down.
Eventually, the names of Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, Paul Varilla, and Barkley Ebona were thrown into the mix, but still didn’t get the approval of the league.
It was only the late addition of Ponferada and a future second-round pick that got the committtee finally agreeing to the deal.
