Rommel Padilla asserted there’s no truth to a social media quote card attributed to him, in which he supposedly came to the defense of his “cheater” son Daniel Padilla and criticized the younger actor’s ex-girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo.

Rommel showed a screenshot of the fake quote card along with the social media account spreading it, through his Facebook page on Tuesday, April 16.

(You all judge Daniel for being a cheater as if you yourselves are spotless! And you, Kathryn, you would not be where you are now if not for Daniel! You already knew that my son is handsome, so you should have expected that he would have other girls apart from you.)

Rommel exclaimed in the caption: “FAKE NEWS!

(Fake news! Please do not believe and share this. This is punishable by law. Condemn the spread of fake news.)

Rommel also seemingly sought the help of his brother, actor-turned-senator Robin Padilla, as the latter’s office released a social media card as well which informs the public that the viral quote is not factual.

The dissemination of fake quote cards has been prevalent among celebrities, and has already victimized several actresses including Sarah Lahbati, Marian Rivera and Annabelle Rama.
