Actress Ruffa Gutierrez has confirmed her relationship with former politician Herbert Bautista.

In a recent interview with ABS-CBN’s Karen Davila, Gutierrez’s daughters, Lorin and Venice, expressed their thoughts on their mother’s love life and their approval of Bautista.

Lorin shared her supportive stance, saying, “I don’t want anything specific for her. I want her to be happy and whatever that looks like… So I never really thought too much about. Me and my sister don’t get too overly involved.”

Venice also expressed her happiness for her mother, stating, “Her current partner now, he’s lovely, he’s a nice guy, he suits her really well, and she is ecstatic about him. Of course, I’m very happy for and again if she’s happy, I’m happy.”

Gutierrez, when asked about her relationship with Bautista, confirmed that it is serious. “It’s always serious,” she said. “I think now it’s just better that, a quiet personal life leads to more happiness. I’ll never go into a relationship that’s not serious. I’m always the serious type.”

The actress revealed that her feelings for Bautista began to develop while they worked together on ‘The House Arrest Of Us’ in 2020. She was particularly moved by Bautista’s inclusion of her daughters on their first date.

“They were included on our first date. Very proper. Sinundo kami sa bahay tapos sinama ‘yung mga anak ko, sabi: ‘I wanna meet them and to make sure that they’re okay with him and everyone is comfortable’ and that was Christmas time,” she recounted.

Her daughters are pleased with her relationship, with Venice noting, “Honestly, just seeing our mom with him, she was just so happy.”

Lorin added, “I do think that the tell-tale sign that this is real and this is a really strong connection is that he helped her get back into school and really encouraged that for her.”
