Controversy has erupted surrounding singer Sheena Palad following her actions during the live telecast of the ‘Beat My Birit’ segment on ‘TiktoClock’ on June 19, 2024, despite her subsequent apology.

Addressing her fans whom she calls “soldiers,” Sheena expressed regret for her behavior towards fellow ‘Tanghalan ng Kampeon’ contender Rica Maer:

“Hi Soldiers, Magandang gabi po sa inyo. I would like to say sorry for disappointing you with my actions kanina sa ‘Beat My Birit.’ Hindi ko naman po alam kung paano ko i-eexplain ang sarili ko HAHHAA pero manghihingi lang din po ako ng Panalangin sa inyong lahat.”

Sheena did not emerge victorious in the singing competition featured on the GMA Network morning show.

Criticism mounted against Sheena, prompting her to disable comments on her Instagram account. The incident in question involved Sheena lightly tapping Rica’s head—not a slap, contrary to what some netizens assumed—during a performance. She also pulled Rica’s hair, which sparked outrage, particularly from Felson Palad’s sister, who is married to actress Donita Rose.

Video footage captured the shocked reaction of TiktoClock co-host Pokwang to Sheena’s actions. Emotions ran high as Sheena performed during the ‘Beat My Birit’ segment of the program.

The show aired live on Wednesday, leaving no opportunity to edit out the incident. After their performance, the production staff reportedly spoke with them about the incident.

Rica reportedly did not take offense at Sheena’s actions, but netizens were incensed, feeling insulted and displeased with Sheena’s behavior.

Sheena is now facing intense backlash from netizens. Her name first gained attention when she replaced veteran actress Eva Darren as an award presenter at the 72nd FAMAS held on May 26, 2024, at the Manila Hotel.

Despite Sheena’s innocence in the incident, she has been subjected to harsh criticism from netizens for her conduct during “Beat My Birit” and accusations of “hurting and humiliating” Rica.
