HEIGHT will still be might for a stacked University of the Philippines side with the addition of 6-foot-10 Fil-American hotshot Quentin Millora-Brown ahead of UAAP Season 87.

Better known as ‘QMB,’ he’ll be a one-and-done player expected to add fuel to the fire of the Fighting Maroons’ redemption bid following back-to-back runner-up finishes to rival schools Ateneo and La Salle.

Millora-Brown, set to fill the huge void left by former UAAP MVP Malick Diouf, suited up for South Carolina-based Citadel Graduate College last year with season averages of 11.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks.

The incoming UP big man also played in a three-year stint with Vanderbilt University after his rookie campaign at Rice University.

Stepping UP in Diouf’s place

“Malaking bagay na naman para sa atin yung pagpasok niya kasi makakatulong siya to step up para sa pagkawala ni Malick,” said UP head coach Goldwin Monteverde.

QMB will soon add even more size to a formidable UP frontline which already features the likes of Nigerian ace Dikachi Udodo, reigning UAAP Rookie of the Year Francis Lopez, Aldous Torculas, Gani Stevens, Sean Alter, Mark Belmonte and Seven Gagate.

Albeit a late entrant to the squad, Millora-Brown will arrive in the Philippines this weekend before joining the Fighting Maroons straight away after the team’s first overseas training camp of the year in Serbia and offseason triumph with their second-straight title in the FilOil EcoOil 17th ECJ Preseason Cup.

UP will shoot for a fourth-straight Finals appearance and a potential second title in four seasons when a spiced-up UAAP Season 87 men’s basketball tournament tips off on
