Kapuso actor Xian Lim shared candid insights that are likely to resonate with fans of his former relationship with Kim Chiu in a recent interview on Boy Abunda’s talk show.

When asked about their current friendship status, Xian affirmed, “Of course, yes.” However, he admitted that since their separation, they haven’t had the opportunity to communicate. “To be completely honest, ever since we went our separate ways, hindi pa po kami nakakapag-usap,” Xian revealed.

Reflecting on the night they parted, Xian described their conversation as respectful despite the emotional nature of the moment. “When that night happened, maayos ‘yung pag-uusap namin. Of course, mayroong iyakan but there was an assurance na… we went through 12 years, ‘di ba? Twelve years of our existence, so, it has that respect, you know?,” he shared.

Pressed further by Boy Abunda on whether their breakup was mutual, Xian clarified that he did not initiate the separation.

“We released our statement na we both decided to part ways. To be completely honest, I wasn’t the one who engaged in the separation,” Xian disclosed. “I wasn’t the one who initiated the breakup.”

Acknowledging the feelings of their supporters, Xian recognized the impact of their breakup. “They’re watching it from a distance. ‘Eto kaming dalawa, you know, and we have our talks. Nag-usap kami privately, hindi na kailangang himayin kung sino ang nagkulang. I think, the length of it speaks for itself,” he emphasized.

Xian also asserted the cleanliness of his record during their time together.

“’Yung mga pambabatikos sa ‘kin ng karamihan, I think, they should just look at it from a lens na for more than a decade, I never had any… my record is clean and I’m proud of that. You’re not gonna see me in places you’re not supposed to see me. So, ‘yun lang siya. The time speaks for itself,” he affirmed.

Addressing speculations that his comments might be tied to promoting his new movie ‘Playtime,’ Xian acknowledged the sensitivity surrounding the topic. “It’s just a very delicate thing and I do understand why people are upset but we are okay,” he reassured.

‘Playtime,’ currently showing in cinemas, showcases Xian in a distinct role alongside Faye Lorenzo, Coleen Garcia, and Sanya Lopez, marking a departure from his previous characters.
