Hollywood stars love their football, or ‘soccer’ as it’s known in the United States, and it seems every actor has found a team worthy of their backing.

Step Brothers star Will Ferrell is a passionate Chelsea fan, movie legend Samuel L Jackson follows Liverpool, and Mindy Kaling is a part-owner of Swansea City.

Now actor Mark Wahlberg has joined his fellow stars by putting himself firmly in the corner of non-league side Slough Town.

The American, 48, took time out from his busy schedule as an actor, director and even rapper to send a message of motivation to the Berkshire-based club.

In a video that emerged on social media, he said: “Alright good luck to Slough Town in Conference South [sic]. Let’s go, let’s see you do better. No bull****, alright?”

Slough are currently second in the National League South division with 30 points from 16 games and face Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday. However, they trail league leaders Wealdstone by seven points and they have a game in hand.

Their ground, Arbour Park, has a capacity of just 2,000 with an average attendance with their last match bringing in 765 spectators.

Perhaps with Wahlberg’s support, more people will be flocking to the stadium in the near future.
