John Wick: Chapter 4 finally gives a good look at The High Table – here are all the members of the villainous organizations that appear.

The Marquis, Killa Harkan, and The Elder from John Wick

The High Table is the overarching antagonistic organization in the John Wick franchise, and here are the five members of The High Table that appear in John Wick: Chapter 4. Despite the organization constantly being mentioned, very little is actually known about The High Table, with the group still being shrouded in mystery after four films.

However, John Wick: Chapter 4 gives more information on The High Table than ever before, revealing all kinds of new facts about the organization. Alongside more lore, John Wick: Chapter 4 introduces several new members of The High Table, filling in some of the gaps that were missing in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.

In John Wick‘s world of assassins, The High Table is the supreme governing authority, with them ruling over the franchise’s various killers with an iron fist. The High Table has been around for millennia, being older than any existing governmental organization on Earth.

Despite their looming presence over the John Wick films, very little is actually known about The High Table and how it operates. The High Table consists of 12 members, very few of whom have been revealed, as well as an empire of agents and enforcers. John Wick: Chapter 4 gives a better glimpse into the world of The High Table, with it including some of its members.

6The Elder

The elder leans forward toward John in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum

First appearing in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, The Elder is the head of The High Table and one of the most powerful figures in the John Wick universe. The Elder is not the specific character’s name, but rather a title that is passed down to each subsequent leader of the organization. The Elder lives in the middle of a desert with a small army of agents, and the villain rarely does any of his killing himself. Due to his position of leadership, The Elder is able to pardon those who break the rules of The High Table, which he does in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.

Although John Wick took a task from The Elder in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, his position on The Elder changed, with John Wick attempting to take down The High Table at the beginning of John Wick: Chapter 4. While going after The Elder, John Wick discovers that he has been replaced by his predecessor.

Nevertheless, Wick still shoots and kills the new Elder after having taken out several of his guards. The Elder is one of the few members that the John Wick franchise has shown off, and while the most recent incarnation has been dead, he will most likely be replaced by another sometime in the future.

5Marquis Vincent De Gramont

John Wick: Chapter 4 also introduces several new people affiliated with The High Table, with the most significant one being Marquis Vincent de Gramont. Marquis Vincent de Gramont is an agent of The High Table that quickly becomes a member after John Wick kills The Elder, giving him a much more powerful position within the organization. The Marquis uses this power to take down the New York Continental and hunt John Wick, attempting to restore order to The High Table.

Despite his power, the Marquis doesn’t like to get his hands dirty, leaving the killing of John Wick to assassins Caine and Mr. Nobody. Even when John Wick challenges the Marquis to a duel, the villain substitutes Caine for himself, only stepping in when John Wick has already been shot. However, this proves to be a poor decision, with John Wick shooting and killing the Marquis. The Marquis may be dead, but he has left a legacy on the John Wick franchise, being the last person that the titular assassin ever killed.

4Chidi

Another member of The High Table introduced in John Wick: Chapter 4 is Chidi; an agent of The High Table. Chidi is Marquis Vincent de Gramont’s right-hand man, who risks everything to kill John Wick for his boss.

Chidi recovers from several major wounds, including a bullet that he received from John Wick while attempting to kill Mr. Nobody’s dog. However, Chidi doesn’t last much longer, as Mr. Nobody gets his revenge at the staircase to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. There, Mr. Nobody and Caine help John Wick escape, with Mr. Nobody then executing Chidi at point-blank range.

3The Harbinger

The Harbinger is also introduced in John Wick: Chapter 4, who serves as an emissary of Marquis Vincent de Gramont and an agent of The High Table. The Harbinger is sent to the New York Continental by the Marquis, delivering the news that the hotel will be demolished. The Harbinger then returns later to oversee the duel between John Wick and the Marquis.

Although The Harbinger is an agent of The High Table, he seems to be fairly unbiased. After John wins the duel, The Harbinger decrees that Caine and Winston’s debts are paid, with The Harbinger being one of the few to live through the movie.

2Killa Harkan

Each member of The High Table is the head of one of John Wick‘s 12 crime families, and Killa Harkan is the head of the German branch. The card-obsessed killer is much more jovial than his fellow High Table members, seemingly enjoying his time toying with John Wick, Caine, and Mr. Nobody.

However, Killa Harkan’s attitude quickly changes when John Wick becomes determined to kill him, which he does by knocking him off of a high ledge. Upon hitting the ground, Killa Harkan’s neck snaps, killing him instantly. John Wick then rips out one of Harkan’s gold teeth as a trophy, ending the character’s time in the franchise.

1High Table Members & Agents Missing From John Wick: Chapter 4

The Adjudicator stands under an umbrella.

While John Wick: Chapter 4 shows more High Table members and agents than ever before, several are missing from the franchise’s fourth outing. The Adjudicator is the most notable absentee, having served as the villain of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.

Although they live through the third film, it is unknown why they didn’t return for John Wick: Chapter 4. Similarly, The Director didn’t reappear after having her hands stabbed through by The Adjudicator in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Despite her absence, she is expected to appear in the John Wick spin-off, Ballerina, as she is head of the Ruska Roma.

A few other members of The High Table didn’t return for John Wick: Chapter 4 due to them having died in previous films, those being John Wick: Chapter 2‘s three D’Antonios. Despite there being four John Wick films, only a few High Table members have been revealed. Because of this, there are still nine members that haven’t been revealed. It is possible that these characters could be villains in future John Wick movies, but due to the ending of John Wick: Chapter 4, it is doubtful that Wick himself will ever face off against them.
