Wahlberg says he eschews A-list parties so he can go to bed early

STRICT ROUTINE: MARK WAHLBERG LIKES TO KEEP IN SHAPE

Mark Wahlberg has revealed how he undergoes a punishing fitness regime to ensure he keeps his place as one of Hollywood’s most powerful figures.

The actor and producer, 45, says he rises at 4am to squeeze in two daily workouts and eschews A-list parties so he can go to bed at 8.15pm.

A former rapper and Calvin Klein model who won acclaim for his role in 1997’s porn industry epic Boogie Nights, Wahlberg told ES Magazine: “I do more before 9am than most people do in a day. I can’t complain.

“I’ve had to work hard to get to do something I love, and they haven’t told me to get out of town yet.”

Describing a typical day, the father of four, pictured, said: “I woke at 4am, made myself breakfast — egg whites, Ezekiel [sprouted grain] bread with butter and sliced avocado — then I was in the gym for 50 minutes.

“I went back up to the kitchen, had a protein shake and made salads and turkey burgers to travel with me. I woke up the kids at 6.15am and left the house at 6.30am.”

The actor, who is married to model Rhea Durham, 38, said he was on the golf course by 7am, adding: “I ran the course while playing — another hour and 30 minutes’ exercise — and got home by 9.15am.”

Of his evening routine, he added: “I’ll work out again, 45 minutes jumping rope and then we’ll eat. I get the kids bathed, I tuck them in and read to them and then I get my wife and we go to bed at 8.15pm so I can get up at 4am again.”

He described a romantic trip to a resort with his wife — but admitted his trainer came too.

Wahlberg is on the big screen in Deepwater Horizon, about the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, and has been in the UK filming the fifth Transformers movie.
