Hollywood actor Liam Neeson was left red-faced after making a confession to the priest
Liam Neeson confessed about a story of masturbation that led him to bid church visitations goodbye.
The Co Antrim native dished this amusing tidbit on the Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend podcast: He told the chat show host: “So we start and I had learned how to pleasure myself at home, onto the sheets, right?
“I had looked up the appropriate word. I remember that: ‘Masturbate? Masturbation? Ok, that seems harmless enough. I’ll say that. [So I told him]: ‘I got in an argument with my mom, my sister and I got in a fight and I masturbated.'”
The bewildered priest responded in a loud, thundering voice: “You what?! The grass will grow over the palm of your hand before you’re 21! Stop that evil practice! ” Liam recalls how “old women just outside the confessional” going through their prayers heard this outburst.
Apparently, everyone within earshot heard it and left the young Liam mortified. He laughingly admitted: “That was the last time I ever went,” as O’Brien wittingly chimed in “that’ll do it”.
Neeson has never shied away from revealing personal insights, often sharing tales about his time in the industry during interviews. Back in 2014, he once opened a window into his past relationship with Helen Mirren
Liam Neeson fell head over heels for Helen Mirren back in 1980 when they were filming Excalibur. Revealing his feelings to Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes, he reminisced: “I fell in love with Helen Mirren, oh my god.
“Can you imagine riding horses in shiny suits of armour, having sword fights and stuff and you’re falling in love with Helen Mirren? It doesn’t get any better than that.”
The celebrity couple were an item for five years until their relationship came to an end in 1985. Despite parting ways, they remain on good terms.
Helen reflected on their past relationship in the year 2022, saying although they “loved each other”, they weren’t meant to be in a romantic sense. Speaking to AARP, she fondly declared: “I love him deeply to this day. He’s such an amazing guy.”
