Anthony Edwards, a star player for the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2023–24, electrified the league and made a lasting impression on fans and analysts. Although he showed glimpses of his promise the year before, Edwards has now solidified his position as one of the NBA’s best players.

Edwards recently stated in an interview that he has complete faith in the Timberwolves, pointing out who he believes to be the best pair in the NBA. Edwards firmly declared that he and Karl-Anthony Towns are the best players in this elite division, crediting their ability to play various positions for success.

Edwards stated: “The best. I mean, because it’s like a one-two punch. Like, he can go to the post, I can go to the post. He can shoot the 3, I can shoot the 3. I can defend, he can defend.”

Edwards also noted that he and Karl-Anthony Towns have a strong collaboration, underscoring that Edwards’ influence on the Timberwolves goes beyond himself. As a guard-center combination, they have been crucial in helping Minnesota accomplish a noteworthy feat: securing the No. 3 seed in the highly competitive Western Conference for the 2024–21 season.

Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns’ Duo Has Been Commendable

According to statistics, Edwards and Towns have played incredibly well this season. Towns has established himself as a formidable force in the paint with an average of 21.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists while displaying remarkable efficiency in field goal and 3-point shooting, per the NBA website.

Edwards, meanwhile, has shown his ability to score points and create plays, averaging 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game. However, as Edwards admitted, individual stats might not be sufficient to maintain their status as the league’s best twosome.

Although Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns would want to consider themselves the league’s best two players, the scene tells a different story. Notably, strong candidates surface inside their own Northwest Division.
