Bradley Beal came to the Suns in the summer with massive fan expectations and has failed to make an impact as the formidable Big 3 of Phoenix with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. Despite niggly injuries throughout the campaign, Beal lifted the standards in the team, and, as a benefit, the Suns found themselves in the playoffs.

But things got feisty before the play-offs when the Suns faced the Timberwolves at the Target Center on Sunday night. During the second quarter, with around 3 minutes left on the clock, the Minnesota-based team called for a timeout. Bradley Beal took the opportunity to chirp at the Wolves bench, which irked Ant-Man.

The duo exchanged words, which soon turned into a show of physical strength as the two benches came to separate the pair from causing further harm. Both were penalized with technical fouls for their troubles, but Beal had the last laugh.

The 30-year-old guard scored a game-high 36 points, with the Suns winning 125-106. Beal also recorded 5 rebounds and 6 assists, along with significant contributions from Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Greyson Allen, who chipped in with 15, 23, and 20 points, respectively.

This victory for the Suns and results elsewhere on the night made sure that the two teams face each other again in the post-season, giving the fans a ‘Bradley Beal vs Anthony Edwards 2’.

Timberwolves vs Suns locked in for first-round playoff

The Suns’ blowout victory over the hapless Timberwolves and the Lakers’ 124-108 win over the Pelicans confirmed that the two sides will face again after the play-in tournament concludes.

This season has been a clean sweep for Phoenix, keeping in line with the historical trend in this match-up. Incidentally, this will be the first time the two teams will face off in a playoff game.

If the Timberwolves fail to turn the tide after their double-digit losses to the Suns this season, the wait for the first-ever NBA championship will seemingly stretch for another year.
