Caleb Williams hasn’t even played a snap in the NFL yet, but the top prospect of this year’s NFL Draft sure does know how to create eye-popping headlines, even if it’s not on purpose.
NFL insider Dov Kleiman has recently posted on X with a caption stating, “BREAKING: Caleb Williams’s Twitter/X account is currently hacked. Do not click on any links!” after the QB’s X was hacked, promoting a crypto scam.
The post also includes a screenshot of a post on the USC star’s X account. The post reads, “You Guys Are Fully Eligible to Claim Your $100 in Crypto Rewards Here,” after which a link is shared. Fans are being urged not to click these links.
Caleb Williams To Be Taken First Overall In The NFL Draft
Fans were quick to point out that it seems like something Williams would do, but the future number-one pick would still go first even if he did so.
The Chicago Bears are the rightful owners of the 1st overall pick after aquiring it in a trade last off-season where they sent DJ Moore in a blockbuster deal. That deal set up another as the Bears traded signal caller, Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers to make room for the aforementioned Williams.
The Bears finished last season scoring just over 20 points per game with 19 total touchdowns coming through the air while averaging just over 342 yards per game. All this with Fields leading charge.
Most NFL fans are already pointing out that Williams will be a clear upgrade over Fields with some even comparing the former to Super Bowl 58 champion, and NFL MVP, Patrick Mahomes, considered by many to be the best QB in the NFL.
