REPORT: Caleb Williams Makes It Clear Which NFL Team He Wants To Play For With Latest Decision Ahead Of The Draft

Caleb Williams looks on during pregame warmups.

The 2024 NFL Draft is less than a month away, and it appears as though many of the pieces are falling into place.

First among them all is USC quarterback Caleb Williams, who has long been expected to go first overall to the Chicago Bears. There were some question marks at one point, as some wondered whether the Bears would part ways with Justin Fields, while others felt as though Williams wanted no part of Chicago.

However, the Bears have since made it clear which direction they want to take at the quarterback position, as they traded Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers last month.

And now, Williams is making it clear which NFL team he wants to be playing for, as he has revealed that he will only take a top-30 visit with the Chicago Bears, according to the NFL Network.

The Bears have this year’s first overall pick thanks to a trade with the Carolina Panthers, who acquired last year’s first-overall pick from Chicago in order to draft Bryce Young.

This time around, the Bears are keeping the number one pick and using it to take a stab at their latest franchise quarterback. They haven’t had much success when it comes to drafting QBs in the past, but none of their previous signal callers have come into the league with as much hype as Caleb Williams.

The Chicago Bears Are Already Building Around Caleb Williams

The Bears didn’t just sit around and wait until they officially drafted Williams before building around him. Instead, they’ve been one of the busiest teams this offseason, acquiring several key pieces as they attempt to build a solid core around their incoming franchise quarterback.

Their most notable addition is wide receiver Keenan Allen, who they acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers. They gave up a fourth-round pick in exchange for the 31-year-old wideout, who gives Williams a very reliable target opposite DJ Moore.

Chicago also added star running back D’Andre Swift, who’s coming off a breakout season with the Philadelphia Eagles.
