The Detroit Pistons are not the greatest spot in the league right now. They are arguably the worst-performing team this season and have struggled to win games that they should have won. They even set the record for the most straight losses suffered by a team in the history of the league.

The blame for this terrible fate for the Pistons has fallen upon their head coach Monty Williams. Rumors have started to circulate that the Pistons might undergo a big staff shakeup during this off-season and make some necessary changes.

Pistons reportedly bracing for a major staff shake-up

It has been reported that the Detroit Pistons are preparing for a major staff shakeup. Jake Fisher of Yahoo Sports has revealed the news that the Pistons head coach Monty Williams could see his way out from the franchise after signing a six-year contract this off-season and then failing to produce results. It is also being speculated that the front office could also see some change in the upcoming off-season.

For now, at the bottom of standings, there has been ongoing speculation amongst rival front offices regarding a potential change at Detroit’s organizational chart following the Pistons’ strugglesome campaign. At this juncture, according to one source with knowledge of the current situation, there is no expectation that (Monty) Williams will be open to any buyout of his six-year, $78.5 million contract,” explained Fisher providing his insight on the situation.

Why Monty Williams on Hot Seat?

Former Suns‘ coach and now Pistons’ head coach Monty Williams is currently going through a rough patch in his career. He signed a six-year contract with the Detroit-based team igniting hopes in the hearts of the fans. However, he has failed to live up to the expectations of the fans and everyone in the franchise as the Pistons are having a terrible season.

The Pistons humiliated themselves this season by setting a record for the most games lost (28 games) consecutively in a single season. Apart from that the lineups and rotations of the Pistons have changed from time to time and have failed to produce results. The young players in the team have also not performed well and have not had enough opportunity to do so. These things have the fans doubting Williams’ ability to lead Detroit and the former Suns’ coach is on the Hot Seat. His future in the franchise is unclear and he is currently hanging by because of the hefty contract he signed earlier.

What do you think of the Pistons’ shaking up their staff? Do you think Monty Williams will lead Detroit next season as the HC? We are eager to know your thoughts, so drop down in the comments and let us know.
